🚁 MS_Helipol

The most realistic police helicopter system in FiveM.

Built for serious roleplay servers that need an air support package

their officers can actually rely on. Every system in MS_Helipol — the

gimbal camera, the auto-tracking lock, the network-replicated spotlight,

the rappel, the HUD — was built from scratch around how real police

helicopters operate. No vanilla searchlight. No floaty static cam. No

half-baked LOS hacks.

Just a clean, fully configurable, optimized resource you can ship today.

✨ What's Inside

🎥 Cinematic Helicopter Camera

  • World-stabilized gimbal — the view stays level no matter how the

  pilot banks, yaws, or pitches.

  • Hold-E to open / close, tap-E to cycle vision modes.

  • Mouse-wheel zoom with tunable FOV range.

  • Per-model chin-mount offsets for polmav, buzzard, buzzard2,

maverick, valkyrie — and any custom heli you add.

  • Smooth rotation with separate manual / auto-track curves.

  • Seat hand-off: state (yaw, pitch, FOV, vision, lock) is persisted

on the helicopter's statebag every 250 ms — when a colleague takes

the camera seat, they pick up exactly where you left off.

🎯 Plate & Target Lock (Vehicles + Peds)

  • Left-click to lock onto whatever your reticle is over — vehicles

  and pedestrians, both supported.

  • Camera auto-tracks the locked target every frame.

  • Tolerant 3-ray LOS — small clutter (street poles, traffic lights,

signs, fences, mailboxes) is filtered automatically. Only substantial

  obstructions break the lock.

  • 1-second grace window — brief blocks (a car crossing, a corner

clip) keep the lock; the HUD shows SIGNAL BLOCKED while in jeopardy.

The lock drops only if line-of-sight stays broken.

  • Right-click to release.

  • HUD adapts labels per type: vehicles show PLATE / MODEL / COLOR,

  peds show MODEL / GENDER.

  • Configurable max range (default 1500 m).

🔦 Network-Replicated Spotlight

  • DrawSpotLight-based, fully aimable — not the engine's

  unaim-able vanilla searchlight.

  • Beam direction priority: locked target → camera reticle → heli forward.

  • Synced to nearby players every 80 ms with **receiver-side

interpolation** for buttery-smooth motion on every client, not just

  the operator's screen.

  • Configurable color, brightness, cone radius, falloff, broadcast radius.

  • L to toggle. Optionally auto-on with the camera.

🪂 Rappel

  • Q while in a rear cabin seat (3 / 4) to rappel via GTA's native

  TASK_RAPPEL_FROM_HELI.

  • Server-validated: job, grade, seat, heli model, altitude, speed, and

orientation are all double-checked authoritatively before the task fires.

🌃 Vision Modes

  • Normal · Night Vision · Thermal (FLIR) — toggleable per server config.

  • Tap-E to cycle while the camera is open.

🧭 Brand-Grade HUD (NUI)

  • Live horizontal compass strip showing camera heading + heli heading

with cardinal & intercardinal labels and degree readouts.

  • Street, cross-street, and zone block.

  • Always-on Montserrat street banner at the bottom of the screen.

  • Vision / zoom / spotlight status pills with brand-blue accents.

  • Reticle + tactical lock corners (turn orange + pulse on signal block).

  • Navy-glass aesthetic, subtle scanlines, vignette, brand watermark.

  • 100% Montserrat typography, JetBrains Mono for numerics —

  matches the MikeScript brand kit.

🔐 Live Permissions

  • Heli.Can() queries the framework live each call — /setjob,

promotions, and shift changes take effect immediately with no relog.

  • Job change events from ESX, QBCore, and Qbox all hooked.

🚦 Optimized

  • 1 always-on watcher thread at 1 Hz.

  • 0-tick render loops only spin while their feature is active (camera,

  spotlight, plate-lock LOS).

  • Configurable intervals for street probe, HUD push, LOS check,

  spotlight sync.

  • No idle CPU cost when the system isn't in use.
